Mary E. Yarbrough Scholarship

Raised in West Virginia and the only child of a coalminer, Mary E. Yarbrough graduated from Bluefield State College with a degree in Business. After marrying her husband, George, the couple raised their only son, Marcus- a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. Dedicated to education, Mary spent the majority of her career working in the Cleveland Heights/University Heights School District before being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2004.
Criteria
• 2.5 GPA or higher
• Nursing major
• Preference to graduates of the Cleveland Heights/University Heights School District
• Award based on merit and does not require student to demonstrate financial need
